FlowTennis is published by Ayva Labs Limited. This policy explains what leaves your phone when you use FlowTennis, and what does not.
The short version
Your recordings stay on your phone. Finding your shots, cutting the dead time and slowing the reel all happen on the device. If you turn on AI coaching, small still frames of your shots are sent to be analysed, and only then. If you sign in, the numbers from your sessions are stored so they follow you to a new phone. There is no advertising, no analytics and no tracking, and we sell nothing to anyone.
What stays on your phone
- Your recordings. The original video and audio, and the reel cut from them, are kept in FlowTennis's own storage on your device. They are never uploaded.
- The analysis. Hearing each ball strike, measuring your body at contact, cutting and slowing the reel — all of it happens on the phone.
- Warm-ups and drills. The camera reads your joint positions frame by frame and the image is discarded immediately. Nothing of you exercising is saved or uploaded.
You can delete any session, or just its original footage, at any time. Deleting the app removes all of it.
AI coaching — only if you turn it on
FlowTennis can grade your shots and answer questions about them using Google's Gemini model, provided through Google Firebase. This is off until you agree to it, and the app asks before anything is sent. When it is on:
- Grading shots or asking about one sends three small still frames of each shot — just before, at and just after contact — together with the numbers the app measured and the question you asked.
- While a session is being cut, up to twelve small frames of moments the app cannot decide were a shot may be sent, so the model can say whether a ball was struck.
That is all that is sent: still frames, roughly thumbnail-sized, and never your video or audio. FlowTennis keeps no copy of the frames. The scores and short notes that come back are saved with your session.
You can turn it off at any time in Profile → Account → Coaching.
What we store if you sign in
Signing in is optional; the app works fully without an account. If you do sign in, the following is stored in Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore) on our behalf:
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your email address, phone number, or the identifier your Apple or Google account gives us | To sign you in, and to recognise you on another phone |
| Your name, if you give one | To address you in the app |
| A user ID | To keep your data separate from everyone else's |
| The numbers from your sessions: dates, durations, contacts found, each shot's type, score and measurements, the coach's notes, rally counts and serve timings | So your history follows you to a new phone |
| Your settings, including which hand you play with | So a new phone is set up the way you left it |
| Whether you have FlowTennis Pro, and any promo code you redeemed | To unlock what you are entitled to |
No video, no audio and no images are stored in your account. Your data is readable only by you: our security rules refuse any request for anyone else's.
If you sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email address, we only ever see Apple's relay address.
What we do not do
- We do not upload your recordings.
- We do not use analytics or advertising SDKs, advertising identifiers, or any form of tracking across apps or websites.
- We do not collect your location.
- We do not sell or share your data with anyone for their own purposes.
Who processes your data
Ayva Labs Limited is responsible for your data. We use Google Firebase to sign you in, store your account and session numbers, and — only if you turn on AI coaching — to run the Gemini model. If you sign in with Apple or Google, that provider confirms your identity to us and we receive your email address and name, nothing more.
Permissions the app asks for
- Camera — to record your session, and to read your joint positions during a warm-up or drill.
- Microphone — FlowTennis finds every shot by the sound of the ball on the strings. The audio is analysed on your phone.
- Photos — only when you save a reel to your library, or bring in a video you already have.
- Notifications — reminders scheduled on your phone. No server sends you anything.
Deleting your account and data
In the app: Profile → Account → Delete my account. This removes your account and everything stored for it. Recordings on your phone stay until you delete them or the app. You can also email us and we will do it for you.
Children
FlowTennis is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and material changes are announced in the app.
